This man died, while trying to kill a snake (not sure if this article mentions it). This poor bloke, becomes another statistic proving that most snake bites occur when people are trying to move or harm snakes.
I have had call outs for 1 tiger and 3 dugites in the last 2 weeks.

He was actually interviening to stop someone else killing it and was bitten as a result..

This article states he was trying to kill the snake. It doesn't matter if he was trying to kill or move the snake the issue is that he was obviously not trained to do so, whether he was trying to do the right thing or not. The poor bloke is now a statistic. The point is, don't try to relocate or kill snakes. Leave the snake alone, or call an expert.

But you're right, people need to leave handling snakes to the experts

ya know the funny thing is - people forget the head end is the end that bites but if you can touch its tale so can the snake ......
im no professional but im almost into double figures..... choice of weapons long handle wide broom and super sharp long handle shovel... when they come into my house its my domain and no place for a snake... living in the country you learn to deal with these hazards... dugites will disappear if you back off but tiger snakes seem to like confrontation ... had them follow me after i've backed away.... but glad we dont have any brown snakes

I have one of them living in my garden bed out the front of my house.
Every now and then he sneaks in the front door, leaves a turd somewhere on the tiles and makes us spend 30 mins trying to find where he is hiding

Great animal to have in the garden for snail control.

Also, it normally sticks its head out from the trees, so people walking in see its head move and think its a snake so CRAP themselves.
Native animals are awesome

Nice one shane... Looks like a big fat one, maybe a gravid female this time of year.
Looks like something has had a chew on its tail.
