Hey all

So after a lot of researching, trolling through forums, a trip to the library (they have cool books) and even purchasing Ads book of Tropheus I've finally made a positive ID of my trophs.

They were sold to me as ilangi and at 3cm it was hard to tell, 5-6cm they started showing a nice yellow belly so I was still under the impression they were ilangi.. I hadn't really thought too much about it until they started to pump out the fry.. So 3 years on and I have healthy adults and no idea what variant they are until now! :)

Ads book of Tropheus confirmed that what I have is in fact 'chilanga red', similar location to ilangi, Nkamba Bay, but totally different tropheus variant.. Anyway I took a few snaps tonight and these were the best of the bunch

Enjoy
Riggers :)

Nice Tropheus... Very nice colouration. To Identify the various species in the hobby could be tricky sometimes unless you buying them from a reliable source...
