Bummer, still got 2, but pretty sure females. Doing a fish order tomorrow, want me to see if I can get one (although I suspect it would also get bashed).

I suspect you would be right Paul
It was surprising to see how aggressive the female Gardneri was.
I wanted to move him in to the other tank I have set up for my next purchase, but that tank isn't fully cycled yet, as it's only been running for 2 weeks now

My females can be quite aggressive with each other, keeping them well fed and plenty of objects to break line of sight is important.

There called 'Kill(each other)-i-fish" for a reason hahahah  :P.

Either that or they jump out of the tank, need a perfect set of lids for most killis.

Here's a picture of my male taken today Jas: Bastards the hardest fish to shoot....Constantly moving and flips away at the sign of a flash,

He's accompanied by 5 females and soon to be moved into a tank of his own with the girls for breeding purposes. (Have bred for me before)

Should have a couple of males I can give you in a couple of weeks  :D ...If they don't all find the 1mm gap between the lids and jump out...."Bloody Houdini's"

some killifish yes. not sure about these though. Maybe Rovik or Paul can answer that one. Or Oli, I heard once about his interest in Killifish

I think they are referred to as annual killifish for those that dont live so long

Have kept gardneris for about four years now. Life span for Gardneris are upwards of two years. They breed like guppies..probably the easiest killifish to breed. Keep them in a well planted tank with floating plants and they will do great. Eggs are laid on the surface plants and takes a couple of weeks to hatch. Fry look like guppies and feed on bbs straight away. With 1 male and 5 females, i would keep in at least a 80l well planted tank. Personally I would just start with a trio as they breed so readily. If only aphyosemion australis was that easy...
