This week has been good to me scored this tank its 60x50x45

and then scored a boat load of live rock so I thought why not

setup a tank in the garage.

So this is what I have come up with, it is going to be a

fish only locally sourced as in all the fish i will be catching,

probably make some sort of light to hang over just so I can

see the fish, so give me some ideas guys what should I put

in there im thinking some rock cod, some crabs......

whiting would be alright herring would be no good but the beauty of it is if they do alright and get too big i can just pop em back from where i got em Im thinking might have to fish the rock holes in marinas during the day used to catch all sorts of weird little fish in there, some of those gobble guts come in cool colors.

Yeah Red Gobbleguts! Catch them at the rock wall at Hillary's marina around Dusk. Went there the other week, caught a dozen of the little guys!

Cool looking fish.

Around Maylands in the swan river you can catch Yellow tail Grunter (amniataba caudavittata) awesome little fish and easy to catch. There's one really good spot to catch these and plenty of large black bream. That is my secret spot. :P

Yep. Get some little Stripey's. You need really small hooks though. Best way to catch them is usually an Opera House trap at Hillary's

Put anything in. I saw people catch a few just with bread in the trap. Maybe tie squid or octopus (tough bait) with wire to the bottom, attack rope to the top of the trap. Drop it down to the bottom, wait a little while and when you pull it up usually there is a few different kinds of fish in there, I have caught a mini crab in there. Trumpeter and Cardinals too.

But the best place to catch them is Moore River. Thousands and thousands of them there. However, that's a bit far from you.

When I first set my marine up I had thoughts of setting up a 'swan river tank' nice round column of drift wood so it looks like a jetty pylon - get some mussels cranking on there and have some gobblies/ cardinals, small blowies, flatties, bream etc all swimmings around it...

However the missus and kids had other ideas... (still want to do it one day tho!)

Shane, if you do go to Moore River, the best spot is the inland side of the boat ramp on the little rocky area there. Big schools of Stripey there. Make sure you either have tiny hooks or a opera house trap because their mouths are very small.
