In Topic: Is He A She? Venustus

Well it's a female, has started laying eggs in the aquarium, so my question now is what to do, I don't see anyone fertilizing the eggs she's is just picking them up here and there if no-one else grabs them, do I consider moving her on or just let her do her thing, she is shuing everyone away from the area, going back and forth, thoughts?

Yea i never intended on having any females only males for a display tank, the two fish that lost their colour were from a lfs but the venustus was privately.
I'd like to give the other guys a chance to show off a bit but its hard to get rid of her as she has been a good fish.
And do not fret people, if any fry were to come out they stay put, like i said before let nature take its course, maybe let one grow out for our own amusement.

Its about 4-4.5 inches, thats the thing its not dominated at all its one of the dominants if anything, generally gets left alone. I hav a sani spot and a sulfur head that have lost their colour, hoping something comes of them.
If it is a female is it ok to leave it in there?
Not fussed if it breeds, just let nature take its course but will if affect the behaviour of other fish mainly for colouring?
