Aquascaping - Tank Journal Competition 2016
After the success of last competition, PCS decided it's time to run again the Aquascaping - Tank Journal competition.
We have discussed about all the hints and comments that everybody gave us, and made few little changes.
You need to be a club member to enter, so please sign up. Becoming a member has many benefits.
There will be 2 competitions that are running side-by-side. There will be an "BIOTOPE" competition and an "AQUASCAPING" competition. Choose your size, level the playing field. The prizes will correspond to the project size you enter.
A thread will be pinned in the Aquascaping - Tank Journal section where members can submit photos and keep track of their projects.
Submitted projects are required to be:
- Constructed and maintained by the Club Member entering the project. Aquascaping Comp starts now. You can start posting now!
- A minimum of one update in journal each month - with at least one progress shot per month containing the date, forum name and the label 'PCS'. It will help your final judgement by increasing points in the "Journal quality" category.
- Must present step-by-step details - Keep a journal and take photos of all changes to your tank.
- Must start from a bare tank - To keep everything fair. No pre-started projects.
- Fully documented as to all species added - It all has to be in your journal.
- Your journal needs to be started on the forum before 1ST OCTOBER 2016, to enter. Before you start it, the more points you will accumulate at the end of the year.
- You need to open your own thread HERE
For the BIOTOPE Competition, also, you will need to:
- Pick any natural biotope - choose any natural biotope you like. The more you stick to the biotope the higher marks you receive in that category.
Club Members can enter ANY of the competitions.
Photos should be displayed to a max 1024 pixels wide, photos with a resolution above this will be re-sized to 1024. (Photobucket and IMG codes will re-size automatically)
Judging:
Submitted projects will be monitored each month for updates and photos. Entries will be judged by a panel of knowledgeable members. Judges cannot enter the competition.
Remember, judging is based on content of your journal or sticking to your chosen biotope. Judging won't be too picky if two fish don't come from the same location as long as from same lake. Or if it is an Australian biotope, any Australian fish can be contained. You can choose any fish type (Cichlids, Catfish, Tetras), shrimp or even just planted. As long it holds to one selected biotope only (if you are running for the Biotope competition)
