Anyone got recommendations for something like this? Or better?

I'm not fussed at to whether the canister has a UV or not. Personally I think having the UV lamp is about as useful as snake oil. I didn't think about the size, so will have to check the space in my cabinet.
Eheim 2180 sure is popular, but I've not had much luck with eheim heaters so would be reluctant to get a eheim filter with a built in heater. They're super expensive too arent they?

Ive been a fan of the FX range Fluval produce (used to run FX5s) the flow was amazing and you could use filter media quite well in them.
I'm currently running 2 x 2700 Nautilus on my ray tank, they seem to do the job quite well and have been for several years now - only problem is they cant cope with the bio load so well, and are nitrate factories I've found. A well constructed sump, with K media etc is the best filtration from my learnings.

I'd love a sump but my tank has co2 bottle and other gear in the cabinet. Plus I cant have any noise at night as im a light sleeper. Lucky to get 5 hours sleep a night, and if i hear any burbling noise I'll be up all night. I used to have an fx5, which was awesome at keeping the tank clean, but I was happy to get rid of that filter as it had a low pitch humming noise at night. Haven't been brave enough to try another fluval product ever since. The new FX6 looks to be a beast filter, but I'm not game to pay $600 or more on a filter if it will make a humming noise. One of my buddies has the big eheim classic (2260) and is happy enough with that filter. Never used an eheim classic.
