LoL is based on the original Dota. But as Anka said, there are a lot more game mechanics to Dota 2 which may make it harder to get into but its worthwhile in the end.

yeah on LoL im considered pretty decent being in 2nd highest tier but does that make it any easier for me to try play dota?
