Nice shots Andy, see if you can get a shot of the space station. Should be able to see the astronauts looking out the window waving with that lens.

Goal of tonight is to get Mars... watch this space! smile.gif

For those playing at home, Saturn is quite visible in the sky ATM
If you face N and look quite high in the sky you can see two bright stars almost vertical.
The top one is Spica, which makes up Virgos left hand, and the bottom one is Saturn, which is her upper left thigh.
I am not into Astrology, so I dont know what Saturn being in Virgos leg means!

Then, from Saturn, almost directly left, about 5x the distance of Spica is another bright star, that is Mars, directly behind Virgo's head. She is hogging the planets ATM!

Then if you look low in the sky you can see around NW if you are lucky you can see Mercury in Cancer, which is ironic, because Mercury probably causes Cancer, so everyone who is Cancer has crabs and mercury poisoning.

Wonder if I can get a job in the paper writing horoscopes... hmmm

haha these photos are awesome, not so sure about the commentary!
It's good we all get to enjoy your new hobby without forking out the cash for new lenses smile.gif
Keep it up! wink.gif Next challenge is to get a photo of Earth. Maybe use something shiny in space to get the reflection.

It will take me a while to get a photo of earth!

OK, I'll come clean.
The new lens is a telescope smile.gif
Its a Skywatcher 12"

This is a shot of the setup from my phone

I tried to get some sun spots this morning but was too cloudy.
Hopefully I can get some clear shots over the weekend

We could have one of those telescopes on the roof for neighborhood watch! laugh.gif Terrific photo`s though Andrew. To think I spent all my young days of photography with an old manual SLR 35mm film camera. Cost me a small fortune in film and not being able to see the result of a pic taken at the same time. Oh how I would have loved a digital camera then on all my trips. A very rewarding hobby and no (dead) fish eye`s!
