Looking to add some rainbows to my planted 2 footer at school. Would like the fish to be Australian to tie in with my theme for this term. Have never kept them, can anyone point me in the direction of a nice species?

For a small tank I would go for Pseudomugal signifer or mellis.
Have a look at this site then decide.

Neon Rainbows and Bosemani Rainbows mix well, chequered grow fairly large.

Can you keep the P. signifier with the neon or boesemans?
