One For The Tropheus Nuts

I've got a colony of duboisi that I've had for about 18 months. Just about all have coloured up now. My question is, with quite a lot of them the yellow bar behind their head isn't as full or define as I've seen in pictures of other duboisi. It appears to be kind of smudged with black. Do you think that as they get older it will become more define or are they just of poor quality.
Thanks

So this is the same with Tropheus as other cichlids, They don't all look amazing. Dominant always looks best, darker, more vibrant, more distinct patterns. Others who step start looking good too. So in my tanks there is 5 males and 4/5 look good once they have distinct areas and start stepping up to the plate. Rest are average looking.

I've found they can look a bit muddy around the stage of losing their white dots.

The colour intensity I beleive is based on hierarchy so the males competing to knock the other dominant or sub dominate males down will have the best most accurate colours . The other ones including females that have the least colour or patterns are at the bottom of the tree and you can work the rest out from here yourself.
