In soccer, anything could happen.. "Did anyone expect Senegal to knock out France in 2002"? hehe! biggrin.gif

Didnt expect them to win, Was hoping for a draw. But was hoping for a much better performance. Was like watching Under 12's junior soccer sometimes. No one knew where they were suppose to be and who they were suppose to mark.

Anyway. Hope they do well next game. Will be a tough one.

Paraguay's actually pretty good. They did well in qualifying against the likes of Argentina and Brazil but I still would have bet on Italy to win.

I saw the German coach being interviewed on the news today saying that the match against Australia was a good warm-up laugh.gif Sorry, I'm half German and hoping that they can go all the way this time. If not Germany, one of the African teams - IMO their style of play is the most exciting to watch.

Yeah, they are pretty exciting too. Great foot skills but not as aerial.

Well... considering they're asian, they're vertically challenged (like me! sad.gif)... so aerial shots will be to a disadvantage... lol

Go the Kiwi's. That was an awesome goal. And I agree, the yellow card was totally worth it. You could see the goalies heart sink when he realised they scored, with like 30 secs left.

On a side note, if New Zealanders are called Kiwi's, why aren't Aussies called Kangaroo's?

Kangaroo are a mouthful, which is why they are called Aussies smile.gif

I think you'll find that Aussie soccer players are called rootards.

And the coach was doing pro bono work for his home country...
