Complete Marine Setup Relist Must Sell !! -- Sold

13 May 2009 - 06:42 PM

Relist, Must sell

I have for sale my complete marine setup:
5x2x1.5 (includes corner weir with to drain pipes) + all plumbing. tank made/designed at vebas

3 foot shallow sump with 3 divisions, first is where water enters from tank and where the h.o.b skimmer sits, 2nd is a deep sand bed with a small light over it to grow some macro, third is the return to tank + heater.

Stand - stand has been modified to suit sump in bottom, due to this the front doors had to be removed, i have been meaning to make something for the front but have never got around to it.

Lighting - Aquaone Metal halide setup contains 3 halides and approx 6 actinic blue lights, currently have it on the stands attached to side of tank but can be hung from sealing, i still have all attachments, and is still under warranty,

Skimmer - unsure of brand but was the skimmer suggested by vebas for my tank. was told it was the better ones they sell, they have them on their display and coral display tank.

Eheim return pump - adjustable outlet upto 3000lph

Circulation - 2x large 15000lph wave makers with electronic control boxs mounted in cabinet

Heater - 300w jager

Water purifier - i would not use anything but ro/di (100% pure water) to do evaporation topups on a marine tank, so included with tank is my 4 stage reverse osmosis water purifier that can sit within laundry cupboard or where ever, easy to install as it just pigybacks a standard tap fitting (exp - washing machine) unit is small and can screwed into cupbourd.

Live rock - approx 100kg of live rock all nice pieces with a fair ammount of coraline algae growth. (cost alone for the rock is well over 1000$)

1 Blue tang
2 clown fish
1 lawnmower blenny
2 black spine sea urchins
and hundreds of different crustations and and much more hiding within rock and sand.
a few differnt soft corals.

comes with all test kits you need
ca + ka additives.

am selling due to lack of time and funds. tank is just under/over a year old looks great.
allthough the last 6 months the tank has cost me 0$ to look after, as it stands it can be looked after free of cost, with the only costs being extra fish and corals =D

Must sell complete $2000 ono require quick sale serious buyers, will help with moving and can give contact for someone who fills tanks for a very good price think i pay approx 60$ for 3/4 water changes so there will be limited down time

any questions please email me

i have no photos as for some reason when i take a shot i get a silhouette image =/
but am happy to arrange an inspection for serious buyers

16 March 2009 - 06:45 PM

FS is my 5x2x1.5 wide Marine Aquarium, comes complete with - **PRICE DROP TAKE IT ALL FOR $2000, WITH THE GUARANTEE THE FISH STAY TOGETHER**

  • aqua one halide and actinic light setup.
  • has a corner weir with 2x stand pipes leading down into a 3 foot shallow sump with 2 dividers, first part containing the skimmer, second with a matured deep sand bed and macro, third is the evaporation compartment with an eheim adjustable 3000lph return pump to tank and also 300w jager heater.
  • inside tank contains 2x wave makers rated at 15klph each they are electronically controlled with a adjustable control box each which sit externally on the wooden stand.
  • contains approx 80+ -120 kgs of live rock,(retail 14-18$pkg) lots of Coraline algae growth showing, lots of invertebrates and creatures when lights go out.
  • tank contains a few corals which are doing fantastic and loving the conditions, the water used is NSW and top ups using a under sink RO/DI system which is essential this also comes with the tank, this water system alone retails at over $400.
  • i currently have 4 fish who have become very attached to each other and which is why i want to see them all go to the same home, a blue tang, 2x oc clown fish, 1x lawnmower blenny.

  • quick edit tank also house's to black spine sea urchins.

the only thing that needs spending some money one (under$100) is when i decided to get a sump i already had the stand, i had to removed the doors, and have a reinforcement frame designed, still to this day i have not had doors made up. i was going to purchase a black pull down blind and run that across the stand top and pull down which would look quite good.

I am asking $2500 - $3000 for the lot, i believe this is a good price, if you have reasons to think otherwise let me know and ill consider. if you would like a complete model and detailed list to do your own pricing and get back to me, i welcome it.

I will try get some photos up, but if not let me know and come check it out, serious buyers only though please.

Thanks
Ian

for those that would like to know why i am selling it, all thought i really see the tank maturing and doing so well, my other hobby is performance cars and i cannot afford both unfortunately so one has to go. regrettably the fish tank

Cyno !!

29 December 2008 - 07:21 PM

G'day, my tank has been running now fclose to 6 months, over the last 3 months maybe slightly longer, not sure but i have been unable to get rid of a terrible brown/maroon algae appears sludgy, which love my sand and 2 of my rocks, it easily brushes off the 2 rocks, and the sand i can push it all into 1 clump and scoop it out but it comes back like a day or 2 later, the lat time i left which was along time ago i think ti went away by itself, i see it getting bubbles on it, it looks alot better in the morning as lights come on but gets deeper and darker towards the end of the day, it looks terrible and i always get the urge to manually remove itm but then hoping if i leave it, it will go its self

my tank is a 5ft tank with a fair amount of lr a couple of clowns a lawnmower blenny and a recently added blue tang, no corals as such just stuff that came on lr, i have a couple or morphs which i noticed yesterday had split which is good, i see a fair amount of pink Coraline algae, i run a skimmer, have a sump with a deep sand bed, the sand bed compartment with some macro had heaps of the algae also, i turned the lights out for a week that are over my sump and it looks really clean in there now. i have plenty of water flow and a corner weir. i do rodi top ups, and my nitrates are 0 and phosphates. my kh is around 10 and ca about 380-400. ive done to 2/3 water changes since the tank as been running, but going by my water test results see no reason to do one anytime soon, my salinity is ok 1.025.

as far as clean up crew i have half a dozen snails and a few hermit crabs, i was going to throw a mass amount of hermit crabs in but have been unable to source any the last couple of weeks.

also at night i see a few large crabs with hairy body's/legs there bodys are around the size of a 20c piece some 10c piece, i caught one of the larger ones the other day at night, are these a problem ? i suppose they may eat my corals when i add some ? are there fish that eat them, can i catch them ?

but more importantly atm the algae is my worry. what can i do to rid this stuff, i do not want a fast cure i want to rid the problem by ridding the cause, i am also well aware that tanks cycle and mature so i am also asking the question, am i still going thought this stage, i also noticed over the last couple of weeks patches of very bright green algae on a certain rock, but that seems to disappear on parts and move across the rock, so it isnt really causing much of a concern.

sorry for the long topic hope it makes sense.
Thanks
Ian

Fs Complete Marine

16 December 2008 - 11:45 AM

Unfortunately after only having my mairne tank setup now for 6 months i have to go and work away again, and i cannot give my tank the time it requires, so she is now regrettably up for sale.

5x2x1.5 glass tank - corner weir with two stand pipes. open top tank

Sump unsure of demsions 3ft long, not very deep as was made to fit in cabinet. 3 section sump. first containing water inlet and skimmer, second a DSB/Macro, third evaporation compartment/outlet to tank.

Skimmer i purchased from vebas one that they reccomend, cannot remeber name and am not at home wil update when possible, retailed at $350 and does a great job.

lighting, Aqua one MG1500 metal halide + actinic setup has mounting to stand on tank + hang from roof. retail $1200 aprox. still under warranty. globes 5 months old.

approx 120-150kg of Live rock, great colour life and shape.

Shallow sand bed of crushed marble

2x resun wave makers in tank 10kx turn over each an hour = 20x, plus an extra power head.
1x eheim adjustable flow 3kltp hour return pump from sump to tank.

Black cabinet, had to modify to fit sump so doors have been removed, i was about to purchase a bacl roller blind for the bottom of cabinet but didn't get around to doing it, can even make your own doors. cabinet has been reinforced structurally with a metal internal frame.

also going with the setup which is a must for any marine tank, is a4 stage ro/di system, with tcs meter, for the purest of water for top ups with no trace elements ect. retail $500

in tank are a pair of occy clowns and a lawnmower blenny, i really want to send these guys with the tank or at least find them a good home together as they inseparable.

300w jager heater.

ca and kalk additives and all the test kits u could ask for also included, i cant really think of anything else but i am sure there is more.
I am willing to help where possible with moving.

asking $1800 maybe slightly negotiable, but looking at retail price alone the live rock would come close.

send me a message of interest and we can discuss
Thanks
