Filtration is as follows:

1x fluval fx5
1x Aquis 2400
1x Eheim something +- 1000 l/h
Old style Tunze rail filtration system 3500 l/h
1x extra 1000 l/h powerhead for surface agitation

out of interest, where did you get your Acarichthys Heckelii from? I've been trying to find these guys for a while now


We have some at Midland Pet & Aqua...

and people used to think i was stupid using over 10 time an hour external canister filtration but if you want a cristal clear tank like brians you have to nice work brian great filtration for a great set up

Top tank Brian, excellent fish and pics, congrats.
And Monobono, Den is selling some excellent Heckelli in the classifieds, I was lucky to get some and am very happy with them. Thanks Den for the quality fish and thanks Brian for sharing the quality pics.

benckie im filtering 8.5 times my tank an hour when i get bigger tanks im gonna over filter even more

external or internal ?

only internal at the moment not worth getting a cannister for a 2.5 ft wana get 2 4ft tanks then ill bring in the cannisters

well 10 times an hour internal is one thing but 10 times an hour presurised external canister is another when i talk about 10 times an hour i mean external canister as to reach the same afect imo you would have to use 50 times intrenal but you would blow your fish away, but in saying that im using 5 times an hour internals on my temp tb tanks but im doing water changes every 2 days and only have two fish in each tank . but jack if you talk to most people internal and external are two difrent things with two drifrent figgers and how tow difrent outcomes, and internals are more maintance imo. but your on the right tack and its great to know your 10xan hour on your tanks :wink: cheers shane

yes I have some hecks and red heads for sale, but after seeing what the red heads look like as adults they gonna be hard for me to part with, someonbe better buy before I change my mind!
