Interesting read.... Some alarming information on braziliensis that in some ways contradicts much of the existing information regarding the likelihood of significant population growth and distribution.

Yeah I wouldn't be suprised. I heard about a LOT of people taking redundancy packages for DPaW. Suprised they are still able to operate as a Government Department

So is this likely to mean give it a couple more years and rather than every other river fish we catch is a blowie, it'll be a Brasiliensis instead?  :o

The thing for me was that no smaller brasiliensis were caught which supports previous information that whilst they can tolerate the salinities they aren't successfully breeding throughout their current range.

35-127mm seine nets were used - it is possible that very small fish are not being captured due to the capture techniques being implemented.

and they arent catching the bigger ones either :).... too smart to be caught lol :)

too late to be called noxious... no point even wasting their tme/money on that one... if the river is compromised as badly as they think - someone releasing a few more into the river isnt going to be a problem :)
