Hi Everyone

My display tank has just fractured on one of it's braces. I have removed most of the water and place my fish in a 3ft tank (looking very crowded).

Does anyone know what would be the best silicone to use to connect another new brace into place and how long would it take to cure to full strength?

I'm hoping a guy I know around the corner has some spare glass to cut a new brace but if not does anyone know where I might get some south of the river?

Do Vebas do glass pacco?

Stressing big time for my fish right now and not what I needed at 10:30 at night!

damn that sucks big time.. sorry to hear. Im not sure of a precise silicone name to use but im sure any aquarium silicone would be fine.. as to the curing, being a brace i would imagine that the full curing time would be like 5-7days.. but i could be wrong

Hi, i use GE scs 1000, but most window & glass sealants ok. Vebas should be able to help you with this.
Curing for a strap at least 48 hours, but longer better (4 or 5 days or even longer better). Really depends on how thick it is applied as well as temperature & humidity. Make sure all the old silicone removed completely.
Bummer.

The 1200 is no longer available in oz, been changed to a different brand & has been nothing but trouble since, had to return all mine & my supplier ( ggh) will no longer supply it due to quality issues.
I make tanks over 1000 litres with the 1000 & it has not failed in 20 years.
We have it in stock, but i an sure vebas can help you with a suitable silicone for your repair, if you fell like driving i am open after 10 tomorrow & probably have sone glass lying around that woukd suit.

God, sorry about the typos, fingers too fat & eyes to old.

That would be great. My wife is doing the "run for a reason" tomorrow so I'll drop in after that.

Thanks for your help and see you tomorrow.

We have the clear or black SCS1000 for $9.50 a tube, probably have some glass around but it would depend on the size/thickness you are chasing. If Paul can't sort you out drop in and speak to Aaron on Sunday and he should be able to help you

Cheers

Pacco
