Hey all,

I am setting up my 3x2x1.5 as a marine tank.

I will be keeping mainly Sps with a few hammers.

Is there any tang that I could keep in a tank that size?

Cheers

most ppl crap when they hear about tangs in smaller tanks.

I have things from small powder blues, to desjardini sailfins, had a small sohal tang at one point in a 3x2x2 which seemed happy and fine.

just remember lots of nori and food to prevent whitespot

Ok thanks, will do.

I was thinking of a small yellow eye kole tang.

Could I keep any fish on top of a kole tang?

Cheers

I have a yellow eyed kole tang, awesome fish.

I had mine in a mixed reef with clowns, wrasse, dwarf angel, hawkfish and coral banded all fine.

I found tangs can get a little narky with other tang species, especially when in smaller aquariums

that'd make an for an awesome reef mix I think.

I prefer the angel over the tang IMO, just watch for coral nipping.

Yeah I'll leave the tang for people with larger tanks.

Would it be pushing it to keep

2x ocellaris clowns
1x coral beauty angel
2x whip fin fairy wrasse
4x Anthias.

Cheers

Unless you have top notch filtration, skimming etc, that bio load will be very hard to maintain quality SPS.

Tank that size, id max to 6 fish personally (all under the 7.5-10cm mark too)

Thanks mate... I'll just get 3 Anthias and ditch the wrasse.
