I have decided to try a bit of aquascaping after being inspired after watching a heap of south american biotope videos on YouTube. That and I was getting sick of buying/selling/moving fish in and out of it.

Pretty happy with all the wood/rocks layout, trying to keep it looking pretty natural. Keep to get some anubius and moss in there at a later date as well.

I will eventually just keep a variety of earth eaters "geos" along with some nice L numbers and the ray until hes to big. The P Bass will be getting moved out back when they're slightly bigger as well. Oh and that other fish will get moved also...

Few pics and a quick video of it so far.

I'll update when I get some red heads I'm waiting on and some plants smile.gif

Enjoy

The two large bits use to be one piece Daz. They must be that old! When I moved them out of my old 6x2 it snapped in half making 2 nice pieces smile.gif Cable tided the top of the middle piece to the bracing so there is a nice hollow underheath.

Can't wait to start adding some Anubis. Ill wait to the Bass are gone. I'm sure they'd love to destroy all the nice leaves!

That is just a mix of a couple of different bags of sand I had and got with the tank when I got it.

When they ray goes in the big tank I have some really fine black gravel to put in. But for now I'm not to keen on keeping the pup with anything else but sand. Although he never hides under it!

I don't think I will have any plants planted in the substrate.

Sand !!!

Haha, you love the sand! I like it as well. But I think the darker substrate will suit it more when I get some greenery in there!

No way johnsy keep the white sand. They love fine sand to sift. You could mix some fine black gravel in there.

This is true.

Some of that moon sand would be sick. But I hear it's pretty pricey!

I just put some moon sand in my tank, its great but not cheap. My 6x2 has 4 bags but could do with another 2. $40 a bag but worth it.

Thanks guys smile.gif

No haven't seen Ronnys old setup. Link?

Where did you get the moon sand from? I think someone said Vebas stocks it. I want to get some nice bits of Anubias, so might have a look whilst grabbing that.

A mix of black and white would look good but all black will make them look really dark and you will miss out on earth eaters stunning colours.

That setup looks great. Nice and simple. Unlike it a lot.

Yeah Raymondo, I reckon I will leave th white sand. Looks great now tannins have leaked out of the bigger bit of wood. It looks like the oldest bit of wood! Glad no one bought it when I put it up for sale smile.gif

Might grab some 46's if I win lotto as well.... They'd look great in there!
