Nothing overly special to report on. Went out for a demersal bash yesterday between two of us managed 3 nice black ass and this Harley.

My first ever Harley (a good one at 55cm), nothing overly special for most people but something I've never caught so good to tick it off the list. Mate also got bricked by a couple monsters. We also stopped  at Rottnest on the way in and got into some Kings. Not monsters but something fun to pass the time!

That thing looks awesome. Nice catch.

Looks like it'd make an interesting aquarium specimen.

I've caught a few of them near rotto. Arguably one of the best eating fish out there.

I like it, maybe hard to maintain though in a cooler tank though being a temperate species of fish, looks great though and would be fascinating.

To be honest, and idea I have been seriously considering (probably in my next house) would be a saltwater tank full of local species. Would need to be a huge tank though 5,000L +. Dhu fish, pink snapper, Harley and the list goes on and on. Would be amazing, as a fisherman I reckon it would also give me a big insight into how species feed.

Coral trout of the southwest, love harlies!

Have often thought of doing the same Alex but logistically it would be a nightmare and bloody expensive to set up!

To be honest, the initial cost doesn't really bother me too much. As our next house I will likely build and incorporate it into the build. The ongoing costs may be a factor.

Also sourcing the fish may be an issue. Not as easy as catching them yourself; size limits and acclimatising WC fish to captive life.

Nice catch, I've booked a trip on Mills next break for my son's 21st. If we catch anything decent I'll post some pics

Good work on the dhu banger mate.

I've hit a bit of a form slump of late. Fished hard over the weekend for little results. A mate I was fishing with did well though. Got to take the good with the bad.
