No worries. He sounds like he's doing ok. Bettas can usually recover from fin rot alone if treated properly (Bettafix did the job when one of mine developed fin rot). I wouldn't be too worried unless he didn't react at all to anything and sat on the bottom of the tank "gasping"

Just keep me informed. Try and get some Bettafix for his finrot (worked wonders on mine) and just give him time.
Best of luck!

Matt

Another thing concerning the swim bladder - what do you feed it?
I recently ran a little test of my own - 2/3 Bettas fed SANYU betta pellets developed swim bladder problems while being fed below recommended.
0/3 Bettas developed any problems on Hikari Betta Bio Gold.

hey CR
aquaone are an alright brand concerning food, but otherwise hikari bio gold it only $7 for a packet, and my betta LOVES it... it should last a while if you vary his diet... peas (twice a week), bloodworm (once a week) etc, etc...
keep us updated on his health

A note: keep them in a zip-lock thingy bag - I once had all my betta pellets go overnight thanks to stupid ants.
