Hi there guys,

Can you give me a list of books on native plants and/or fish that you recommend?

Would be good if you could also give me the location/link to where I could buy it smile.gif

Thanks

Andrew

Why not join ANGFA WA ?
They have some very passionate native people with a great knowledge base

Book wise , fish is pretty easy, its available in most books shops or the WA Museum

ANGFA National sell quite a few books along with releasing the "Fishes Of Sahul" magazine every quater. The magazine is always an intersting read. I've never seen any books for sale exclusively on native plants. The book graeme linked to is an awesome book and HIGHLY recommend for any native fish enthusiast. I know ANGFA WA have a few books for sale, you'll have to come along to a meeting and badger Ben/ Acturus to show you them wink.gif

BTW you can only get the Fishes Of Sahul magazine by signing up as a member of ANGFA national.

I picked up a sweet book on New Guinea fish from Sydad (ANGFA Meeting) at a really good price only a few months back. I've got about 10 different books on ANGFA stuff, which you're more than welcome to borrow off me. Definately come along to an ANGFA meeting, no pressure to join. It's a really friendly group of people to chat to too! Hope to see you there mate

Was that the book with a Pseudomugil furcatus on the cover? Good book that one and cheap as chips too. I've been meaning to get some new books from ANGFA but books have been low on the priority list for me of late. There was a (Syd will correct me) book/ article? they're distributing on Glossolepsis spp by J. Graff I've been wanting to get along with a book of fish from the Fly River.

You could probably ask Steve what books the PCS library have available to borrow.
Now that you are a club member you have access to it, and it is a pretty impressive collection.
There should definitaly be something in there that will interest you.

Hello Anka,

Just wondering if you looked up my reply to this question when you asked it in the Community and Planted tank section earlier in December. Just a reminder; http://www.perthcich...showtopic=45527

Nick Romanowsky is, together with Dave Wilson, one of the native plant gurus. If you did not do a search on him, I would suggest you do so as he is a real enthusiast, and as I indicated before, he has written several books on the subject of native plants: particularly with regard to their use in ponds and dams, but not restricted to such.

Syd.
