I'm heading out to the chapman river in a couple of weeks, will start inland in the fresher part and move towards the coast over a few days. Haven't fished it before so was just curious to know if anyone has fished there? And what I could expect to find?

Mud crab!!! Ooh yeah, yum yum. I heard a whisper of mangrove jacks as well, my old mans favourite lol he told me never to keep one in the tank or he would BBQ it at the first chance he got. Also I am keen to eat a mossambicus.

Don't think there's much in there except the odd bream, yellow-tail trumpeter (grunter), mullet and tilapia (Oreochromis mossambica) have also been introduced into the chapman. Hopefully they have been eradicated by now but i doubt it. Empire gudgeon should also be in there if they haven't been eaten by the Ferals.

Let us know how you go and what you catch mate, would be interested to see what shape it is in.

Go see my mate Lloyd Lyons at tackleworld Geraldton, hes a fellow MJ keeper and might be able to put you on to a few spots if you ask him really nicely.
