It would be hard to find someone selling a female, because they have to be 2 years old before they are properly sexable and they are very large and thus can become more "pet" like than other smaller species... thus people are less likely to part.

I would not have parted with mine, we bought her 2 months after i was born, when she was 2cm long (2 months old...) and she died last year because she went blind years ago and couldnt eat properly. She was about 40cm long... Fantastic fish!

Did you plan on breeding them and also was it pink or gold u were after, i'll keep an eye for them.

Hey I think Veba's has one of these guys on the back wall... Couldnt say what sex it is but its pretty damn big if they still have it.

Last time I saw it was a while ago though. Havent noticed it so it may have been sold.

There is a whitish one (I don't know whether you call it pink or gold:lol ) at Aquotix...it is about 20cm long. My uneducated guess:\ would sex it as a male, though it might be worth a look.

Hi there,..I guess pink and gold its the same.at vebas got all male in the big tank+also got 2(baby)xGG at$260 which both male ,.at aqu it also male(some more a bit ugly) at Midland got Red indo short body Giantgourami(very rare) which is male some more not for sale.I should bought it at vebas 4years ago,that time it only 180$(baby).I dont really know where to find female pink giant gourami in perth maybe no more female pink GG in Perth ,most of them are male.I got 4.5years old 60cm pink gourami at atm.I want to find him a girlfriend he is so lonely in the tank. If any know where to find female pink GG pls let's me know,Thank you Hey Corrna you are right "This is the best fish that I ever had" Fantastic fish! He is so play full
P.s I saw Female pink GG in Perth only 1 time(3.5years ago at LFS) Why pink GG become so rare........................................ Regards

I recently saw a huge giant gourami at morley aquariums although i think it ws purely display give them a call though.
