Better talking to the yabbie harvesters. Or go and catch your own

the ones we catch in western Australia are not yabbies I don't believe in feeding native creatures out of my local area to my exotic pets :) plus risk of disease ect not worth it. I know yabbies are in mass production for human consumption and there not native to western aus so that's why I want to use them.

We do have introduced yabbies in WA. They came in 1932 and contribute large numbers to the commercial industry. Not sure if they are C. albidus or C. destructor as there have been some funny business about identification for marketing purposes.

We all make informed choices of what and when we feed our fish. We just need to balance out risk with reward.

After talking to some colleagues C. albidus is a hookey name dreamt up in WA. It is genetically identical to C. destructor. It does not have a halotype registered from eastern Australia. In summary we have yabbies C. destructor in WA.

They aren't as prolific in the true SW. Zrydes may actually live in an area with none. The SW of WA is one of three true hotspots for freshwater crayfish. The other two being Tassie and PNG.

yes I can recognize them I was breeding yabbies in a tank at the same time I was catching the Cray fish so am 100 percent they were not the same. I would love to find somewhere with an established population and raid it every month but I'am limited to my local area because I don't have a license. now that I know there here thoe when I do go out catching crays ill make sure ive some identification information with me so I can get my conservation on and humanly get rid of some of these destructors. Thank you for the comments Adam you sound like you have quite an extensive knowledge on the subject :)
