So i am going to do it . . . im going to set up my first marine tank ohmy.gif My cabinet is on its way, im still deciding who i want to build my tank, so next thing is lighting. The tank is a 40cm braceless cube, and i need a light that im not going to regret buying down the track. My goal is to have some live rock, corals, clownfish, and maybe an anemome and starfish depending on compatibility. I want a light that is black, and preferably not too hot. Any suggestions would be great smile.gif

I like LED's but i cant find one that is not only black, but has a reasonable output as well. To be honest, i really dont have much of an idea as to what is sufficiant

I have the vertex illumilux on my tank - awesome lights, really happy with them. Black slim line fittings. Will be even better once they bring out the PC controller unit to make them fully programmable.

What is your budget?

Look at the Sunbrite Slimline S-12. Probably the ideal cheap LED for your tank.
