hi im going away for 1 and half week. so planning to use automatic feeded and those small block fish food that will last in the water for a couple of days and my parents are gonna drop by every second day to feed the fish and check on their health.

before leaving im gonna do a 50% water change and give it a good vacum on all my tanks.

can i use feeder fish they should last for a couple of days cos plenty of space to hide

note. i got some 1 foot, 3 foot, 4 foot and a 6x2x2x.

so the only question i wanna ask is what esle can i do.

Id probably just rely on the parents...feeding every second day for only a week or so should be fine (depending on the fish of course)

I'm going to be in the same boat in a while. If your parents can feed them every second day, that should be enough. Just tell your parents exactly how much to feed, so they don't put too little or too much in.
I don't think you need automatic feeders.

ensure you ration out the correct food in pre packed sachets as parents all tend to overfeed;)

Depending on the age of the fish and the age of the tank and what else is in it (gravel, plants, etc) I probably would not feed while you are away. Most fish will be fine for that period of time. I regularly (6-8 times a year) go away for 2-3 weeks and don't have any one feeding my fish.

ok.............. r you sure that will be fine i mean i dont want them to turn on each other.....lol plus its not jus one tank here i got a few so dont really want to lose any fish.

but i can understand where you are coming from as i know many cichlids can go for weeks or even months with out food when they are holding but the problem is that i got many other variety of fish and im not sure if they can go that long without food. biggrin.gif
