Hi guys havent been here for awhile I have been enjoying my tank and just recently I had an electric yellow with a mouthful of fry. This was easy to detect and I got her out of the tank and she let go of them so I now have about 20 babies to look after.

I noticed recently that my Mainganos had also bred in the tank I had been watching them for some time but did not notice that they had bred. I water change weekly and by the time I realised there was only one left which got eaten tonight.

Are Mainganos mouth breeders or do they breed like suckers laying eggs????

I would like to try and save the next lot if I can.

Yep Tilapia Rendalli. It is a substrate spawner and the only Malawi to pair up with the opposite sex. The rest are mouth brooding harem breeders
