Yes, they are in Australia. I've seen them between $500-$1000 a few years ago. Johnno will know current supply and prices.

#313791 Can I Add These Tablets To My Beef Heart Mix?????
Posted by 47Ronin on 23 April 2014 - 03:00 PM in Fish Health, Nutrition, Diseases & Pests
No don't use vitamin supplements designed for humans. Best use a vitamin supplement formulated specifically for aquarium fish eg. Vitamarin-F. Beware beefheart can be heavy on the filtration and there is some debate if there is any benefit to feeding fish beefheart or not, wild fish generally don't eat mammals. Then again I have used it to fatten up fish.
#312168 Geophagus Rio Branco

When I kept various Geos I kept them on fine sand I gathered from the avon river. This made a huge difference in the sifting habits. Instead of spitting gravel back out the mouth the sand would pour out the gills, a more natural behaviour I believe. I used smooth, semi-flat river rocks as spawning sites.

I have found frozen baby brine shrimp before in perth, but it was honestly overpriced for the amount in the pack
Buying it by the tin (454g) is the only economical way.
#311674 Synodontis Multipunctatus - Fry

If you want to feed the multi's high protein, feed them late at night. The multi's will still be on the prowl and the cichlids if the room is dark should be out for the night.

#311579 What Is The Growth Rate Of Dragon Blood Cichlids???
Posted by 47Ronin on 24 March 2014 - 08:15 PM in Cichlid Discussion
Most aquarium fish with daily water changes, high temperature, and high protein or optimal diet will generally take about 3 months before they are sellable to most LFS. Some species that have larger fry can be quicker others slower especially if the fry need to be started on infusoria but 3 months is generally a safe bet.

#311221 How Long Does It Take For Betta To Be Sellable????
Posted by 47Ronin on 20 March 2014 - 11:03 AM in Community and Planted Tank Discussion
I was selling them about 3 months of age. The females are easier to sell smaller as the males at 3 months haven't developed full length finnage yet.
