I want to build a UGJ system for a 10 foot frontosa tank.
Does anyone have any first hand experience setting one up?
Thanks.

To reply to this from so long ago, what does the UGJ achieve?
And also, has anyone sent you a PM to help you, as I can see no replies to this question?

Best when used with a coast-to-coast style overflow and sump.
.......and no replies.

Well there is another discussion on a similar issue here http://www.perthcich...showtopic=60529maybe that will help?
I like using a Bubble curtain to create a circular flow, but I dont have a 10' tank, you might need a little more power.
So sorry I can't help, hopefully another person will see this topic and reply.

Hi,
I have no clue on how to set one of these up. To be honest the first time I heard about it was when I read your question.
Anyways, Have you done a quick google?
I found a few DIY tutorials on setting them up. Joey from "The king of DIY" youtube channel came up first in my search and he explained the process well. Maybe watch that and other youtube clips if you haven't already.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Would be cool if you can keep us up to date on your experience setting it up and how effective it is. I am always interested in making maintenance easier.
Cheers,

Are you talking about a powerhead at the top of an Under-Gravel Filter?

I beleieve the return is actually 'below gravel' , not suction.
Yep.
Below gravel return.

i tried this a while back by putting the return pipe from my cannister filter through a ug filter. didnt think it did much. pulled the ug filter out because i found it easier to get the gunk during water exchanges when its setted on the gravel
